Lie, Steal, Cheat. Rinse & Repeat. | Ninja, What?

Anime Ninja

You’re probably wondering what the hell I mean by Lie, Steal, Cheat.  Rinse & Repeat. First of all, this is not about some methodology or shady practice that I use to con people with.  It’s just a catchy phrase I use personally to help me remember a few important steps.  A lot of times I tend to over complicate things.  It’s true.

I think way too hard about what I need to do and so I invent ways to simplify matters.  One of those ways is something called “word association”.  Simply put, I use a word or words to help me remember a concept.  If I repeat it enough times it gets ingrained in my memory–just like those damn jingles you hear on TV or the radio.  I figure if it works, why not use it.  Here, I’ll explain…

LIE…

Seth Godin, author of All Marketers Are Liars: The Power of Telling Authentic Stories in a Low-Trust World says, “All marketers tell stories.  And if they do it right, we believe them.”  He’s right.  So when I say LIE , I’m really saying you should tell a story.  Everyone likes a good story and the best marketers tell a story that gets the audience’s attention and gives them something to identify with.

You can paint a great picture for them about something they choose to believe without being phony and still provide a REAL SOLUTION to a REAL PROBLEM.  The most successful marketers have known this simple but effective technique for ages and now so do you.  Story telling is directly related to Preselling.

I come from a sales background, but as an affiliate marketer my job is to presell.  It just means I’m warming up my website visitors and getting them in a ready-to-buy frame of mind before sending them to a merchant’s site.  The merchant does the selling and I do the preselling.  It’s funny because preselling is hardly ever talked about but is one of the most vital skills for affiliate marketing.  There’s nothing sneaky or underhanded about it either, especially when you market products that you use yourself, like I do.  I learned the hard way about selling vs. preselling.  I couldn’t figure out why people wouldn’t buy from me.

Well it’s because they were getting sold twice!  Eventually I started catching on and began making progress after I discovered Presell Secrets X™, by Alvin Huang and Joel Chue.  It’s not available to the public yet, but when it launches there will be chaos, I know it.  They really dig deep in this e-course and educate you.  I almost don’t want to recommend it because it’s that good.  But that’s what I do.  I review products from the biggest names in Affiliate/Internet Marketing, test them out and recommend them to all you ninjas so you can up your game.

STEAL…

Of course I don’t mean steal in the literal sense.  I’m referring to ideas here.  It’s great that you want to be original, but work with what’s been tested and proven to MAKE MONEY first!  That’s the name of the game, isn’t it?  And if you’re just getting started in the game the last thing you want to do is try to re-invent the wheel so-to-speak.  You know all those crazy sales letters with BOLD this and UNDERLINED that?  Doesn’t a lot of that stuff look the same?

Well all those gurus didn’t just come up with the concepts by themselves.  Marketers steal each others ideas all the time because those crazy “gimmicks“…wait for it…actually WORK! Sure you can use a little creative spin here and there, but don’t get carried away until you’ve made a name for yourself and have a loyal following.  Only then will your audience and peers respect your new ideas.  Okay so maybe a better way to phrase this concept would be to say emulate or model the behavior of successful marketers, but that just doesn’t sound very ninja!  ; )

CHEAT…

This one is my favorite.  Okay, so I don’t mean cheat in the real sense of the word–nothing illegal or unethical that would get you in trouble or piss people off (except your competition…muwahahahaha!)  No, no.  All I’m saying is that you should develop a personal strategy and use underground tactics that are creative and give YOU the upper hand!  If you don’t have your own product and nobody knows who you are then leverage the success of the gurus–the experts.

These guys are professionals and can teach you a lot!  Take advantage of what they know.  It seems like you’re cheating, but you’re really not.  It’s called working smart, not hard.  The guy I’m learning from, Jonny Andrews, created a whole system based on leveraging the success of the “Big Boys” of Internet marketing.  It’s called The Guru Assassin™ and it’s easily worth ten times the asking price.  If I had to recommend one product, this would be it.  I mean he practically does the work for you.  It’s insane how much stuff you get for your money.  Don’t you love it when you feel like you’re getting in on something no one else knows about that could make you rich?  And all you have to do is follow a few simple instructions?  That’s what this is.  I love it.

RINSE & REPEAT…

Assuming you’ve found a system that works and taken action all you have to do is repeat the process.  Makes sense, right?

See you on the money side,
